MacLellan’s HVAC & Mechanical branch in Indianapolis stepped into the limelight last year when they partnered with general contractor, CD Barnes and Goodrich Quality Theaters, to support the remodel of their Eastside 9 Theater and IMAX expansion in Lafayette, Indiana.
As the current provider of preventative maintenance for this and six other Goodrich theaters in the central Indiana area, we were excited to be chosen for this project.
Phase 1 of this project included the remodel of an existing theater. This included demolition and reconfiguration of some of the existing ductwork throughout the Palladium and lobby areas, replacement of all of the 15 existing rooftop units with new units and curb adaptors, installation of a new commercial kitchen hood, grease duct, makeup air unit and fresh air ductwork, installation of a walk-in cooler and freezer and replacement of registers, grills and diffusers. Timing, or a condensed schedule in order to reopen for the holidays, was our biggest challenge in phase 1 but everyone worked together because the show must go on!
The scope of work during phase 2 included the installation of three new roof mounted packaged HVAC units and a new ductwork distribution system for the building addition.
